I don't know if I mentioned the new addition to my family. The jump from 30 GB to 160 has made my life soooooo much easier.

I probably have posted this before, but I'm so in love with this song/video. I want to crawl inside of it and never return. Screw the song from Breakfast Club, THIS is important.

When I was 12, all I wanted was for Robbie to come back, and Take That to stay forever.
ALL. I. WANTED.
I think I've been patient enough for 15 years, eh?

I need to address the latest Michael Jackson controversy. Let me bring you up to speed: Sony recently announced that they will be releasing a new album by Michael Jackson. It will probably be comprised of songs he recorded early that never made the cut, or songs from near the end, that have never seen the light of day. The first single is called "Breaking News" and his family is in a tizzy, denying its authenticity. There is a lot of "I know Michael, and that is not him singing" going on.
I heard some "Breaking News" today. There are parts that I'm certain are Michael, but I suppose most of it does not sound typical. If you've ever heard his Invincible album, you may notice that they had altered his voice in some songs. This may be to suit the desired key of the song, or that Michael alone just couldn't cut it anymore. So yes, it involved adjusting the pitch of his voice, which is likely what they have done with "Breaking News."
Why the hell would Sony release a song under the name of Michael Jackson if it simply was not him? I mean really, it's a shot in the foot. It's Milli Vanilli territory, it's bloody suicide. I realise that his family know him the best, but I too think I know Michael's art pretty damn well. I would not be doubting this song at all if it weren't for all of this hype.

Agh. Guys, what are you being for Halloween? I have a few ideas, but nothing I feel strongly about. I do know that I want to put in some creativity. I definitely want to paint my face. And I'm pretty open about it too. Something grotesque or funny or sleazy... I dunno!
Camilla thought of a great costume idea. Ramona Flowers! I would have totally been Ramona Flowers if I thought of it first. What an easy costume! It's been done many, many times (we Googled it the other night) but yeah.
Some ideas I have right now are some sort of skull makeup, or some sort of clown (French or hobo, my favourites). I also wish there was something more to the Rio girl, cos I'd be her too. If anyone has any suggestions or Google keywords I can look up, awesome. I'm also just interested to know what your Halloween plans are and how you're planning on dressing up!

Thought to end today (as I will not dwell on the shitty ass day back today was, and how shitty ass the rest of the week is looking)!
I really freaking want to see Adam Lambert in concert, while he's still young and in his prime. I got into him literally a month after he played Toronto. Pretty sure I've mentioned that I love his album, and I love the mix of collaborators. I think the only weird thing about going to see him in concert is that my mother will definitely be in tow. I can hear the "my knee is sore" complaints already...
Anyway, just found this on YouTube and I'm dazzled, as usual. He sings it better live than he does on record. Fun fact! This song was written by Matt Bellamy of Muse. And that's obvious!

KEY LIME MARTINI
If you have a sweet tooth even for cocktails, then this dessert inspired martini will make you want a slice of the action.
1 digestive biscuit bashed into fine crumbs 2 (25ml) shots vodka Half (25ml) shot lime juice, plus more for the rim 1 (25ml) shot condensed milk
1. Dip the rim of a martini glass in lime juice and then the digestive biscuit crumbs to coat the edge of the glass. 2. Put some ice into a cocktail shaker and add the vodka and lime juice. Pour in the condensed milk and shake it very well to mix. 3. Strain carefully into the martini glass taking care to avoid the biscuit coated rim.

Dear Livejournal friends,
Please pool your pennies together and buy me these. They're only $220 brand new on eBay.

I could settle for some paint in the same colour scheme. I just might have the inspiration for my new bedroom.
Love,
Me.

I LOVE MY OLYMPIC MITTENS SOOOO MUCH :) THEY'RE SO COZY AND WANT TO WEAR THEM ALL DAY AND NIGHT :))
This is no offense to Ashe's mom, who knitted me mittens for Christmas. She included orange yarn in the pattern because she knows orange is my favourite ever. Alison says she used really expensive wool and knitted them with great knitting wisdom. And they're really warm and symbolic of the love we share. But I need to retire them for a couple of weeks while this Olympic spirit in me burns bright.
GIVE US A WORTHY HOCKEY OPPONENT, ALREADY. I'm off to find a site that carries official Ukraine and Bulgaria merch and not loose-threaded bootlegs.

With little effort, I've managed to sway my mom into using another one of my interior design ideas. At my local Ikea I saw a sample bathroom that was Parisian-inspired. Pink walls, white porcelain, and black detailing. I absolutely love it. It's ultra feminine and classy, much more stylized than the maroon/brass theme we have going on now. So in our new condo, whenever we do get one, we're going to do something along those lines. I showed her this pic to exemplify where my thought process was coming from. Hopefully the tiles accommodate...
My question is, for those of you in Southern Ontario, can you suggest any good stores or antique shops that would help me out here? Or to my friends abroad... any stores online? Websites that inspire?
